Who Attends: The program is designed for both teens and their parent(s) or guardian.

How Long: The course lasts 2 and ½ hours from start to finish. You only need to sign up for one session on either Saturday or Sunday.

When to Arrive: Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of your session and go to the TDE Registration tent to check-in and pick-up your name badge.

What to Bring: Teens need to bring their driver’s license or permit. Parents will also need to show their drivers license in order to participate in the driving portion of the course.

What to Wear: Classes will be held rain or shine. Attendees will be moving around outdoors often between tents, vehicles and classrooms so bring a jacket or sweater for your comfort and wear closed-toed shoes for your safety.

Event Overview: The course begins with an opening session which both teens and parents attend together. Then the teens go out to a closed track where they will complete 3 driving courses focusing on defensive driving, accident avoidance, braking and the dangers of distracted driving. The parents will rotate between a coaching session and a distracted driving component where they will also get an idea of what their teens are learning on the closed course. Then teens and parents will reunite for the closing session.
